MATEO ROGERS | BRITTNEY YRACHETA
Now located in the heart of downtown Atascadero, Momotaro Ramen and Izakaya marks the next chapter in our story. After five years of building our foundation, we’ve grown into a standalone brick-and-mortar space designed to deepen our connection with the community and expand the experience we offer.
Inspired by the beloved Japanese folktale Momotaro—a story passed down by our co-founder’s grandmother Yuriko, our restaurant remains rooted in tradition, storytelling and the spirit of bringing people together. That foundation continues to guide us as we evolve.
With the addition of “Izakaya,” our focus extends beyond ramen to a broader expression of Japanese food culture. Alongside our house-made broths and carefully crafted bowls, we now offer a selection of Japanese small plates, an expanded beer and sake program and chuhai’s (shochu highball cocktails) meant to be enjoyed in good company and shared across the table.
Every detail of our new space has been thoughtfully designed to be immersive. Our goal is simple: to transport you. What begins as a walk through downtown Atascadero shifts the moment you step through our doors—into the feeling of an izakaya tucked along a back alley in Tokyo. Warm, lively and a little unexpected.
At its core, Momotaro Ramen and Izakaya is more than a restaurant—it’s a place to gather. A space built on community, where guests can return again and again, whether for a bowl of ramen, a late-night bite or a drink shared among friends.
